YIRN organized two Family Safety Workshops (March 25, 2017 & April 24, 2017) where individuals could come and listen to a presentation explaining the family safety packets, complete paperwork, and speak with a lawyer to help prepare a power of attorney and other necessary documents to protect their children’s future.
When a rumor of an ICE raid flies through the community, it’s important to have a trained observer check out the rumor to see if it’s true.
Because of this, the YIRN has affiliated itself with the Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network, to receive and act on calls to their Hotline about possible incidents in the area.
