Family Safety Planning
Keeping Our Loved Ones Safe
Protect Your Family Members
In the event a spouse or parent is detained by ICE, family members left behind may find themselves without access to important legal documents and decisions.
Family Safety Plan Workshops assist families to gather and prepare their essential paperwork for the possibility that a family member could get caught up in an ICE enforcement, leaving loved ones without access to vital family information.
Community members listen to a presentation about the importance of Family Safety Planning, then meet with advocates who help them prepare a Power of Attorney and organize their paperwork.
When the documents are ready, each participant meets with a volunteer lawyer to review their situation and get the their Power of Attorney and other paperwork signed and notarized.
