When a rumor of an ICE raid flies through the community, it’s important to have a trained observer check out the report to see if it’s true, or a rumor/misinformation.

Because of this YIRN, as a member of the Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network, receives and acts on calls to WAISN’s Hotline about possible incidents in Yakima County.

What Your Call Initiates

A simplified explanation:

  1. After receiving a call about potential ICE Enforcement action, the WAISN Rapid Response Team in your area will be activated.
  2. One or more responders will go to the reported scene and document what is going on.
  3. Confirmed encounters are reported back to WAISN.
  4. WAISN posts the confirmed action on WAISN Social Media
