In August, we received a generous grant from the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary in support of our Family Assistance program so that YIRN can provide humanitarian assistance to the families of detainees and support the detainees during their time in Tacoma.
A heartfelt thank you to Northwest Harvest for generously providing shelf-stable food and fresh produce for the families of those who have been detained as well as Safeway gift cards!
A big thank you to OIC of Washington for providing us with boxes of shelf stable foods and produce for the families of our detainees!
In August 2026, YIRN received a donation from 30 backpacks full of school supplies for the children of our detained community members!
In July 2026, YIRN received a donation from the Blaine and Preciosa Tamaki Foundation in support of our critical work protecting the local immigrant community.

In July 2025, YIRN was granted funds by the Youth Leadership Council of the Yakima Valley Community Foundation, a group of high school students from schools across Yakima county, in support of our work in the community!

Donate to support YIRN
YIRN distributes Know Your Rights information to community members and handouts for trainings at no cost to participants. Your donations also help us provide humanitarian assistance to affected families! Between the Ridges is a 501(c)(3) and our fiscal sponsor [Tax ID No. 46-3102292]. YIRN volunteers organize and provide services for free, enabling 100% of donated funds to go directly to families and advocacy efforts.
Ways to Donate
Gas Cards – Our Faith Communities committee is collecting $50 gas cards for the families of detainees so they can visit their detained family member in Tacoma.
GoFundMe – YIRN’s GoFundMe page is raising money for phone and commissary funds for detainees in NW Detention Center, gas cards, initial legal consults, and other financial assistance for detainee’s families.
Our Humanitarian Assistance Committee sends out an “Our Neighbors in Need” email 1-2 times a month with specific needs for families. If you’d like to receive those emails, please let us know by completing this form or emailing yakimaresponsenetwork@gmail.com and we’ll add you to the notification list.
